I have had success with my fairy light hoops at Christmas for many years now. There is a natural fit for the product and the personalisation element also lends itself well to gift giving. This got me thinking about other celebrations where light decorations would be a great fit. Diwali is also known as the ‘Festival of Lights’ so I knew this could be a new area to look at.

Last year I made a ‘Happy Diwali’ fairy light hoop for my Mother-in-Law and her reaction gave me the confidence to offer them on my website. Diwali, is the Hindu festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. Many lights and lamps are lit, so fairy lights are a perfect way to add more light into the festivities and send a beautiful message of ‘Happy Diwali’ to those that you love.

Since the success of my Diwali tinsel fairy light decorations I have been thinking about other festivals and celebrations that I could create products for.

My newest product launch is for Eid! As Ramadan draws to a close, Muslims all over the world will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr. Eid marks the end of a month of fasting from dawn to sunset, as well as spiritual reflection and prayer.

As with my Diwali light decorations, my inspiration began with more traditional colours, but I had lots of orders in neon colourways with comments that people are so excited to find modern decorations!
